2023 Chatham County Farmland Preservation Plan

Chatham County requests the community’s help to develop the 2023 Chatham County Farmland Preservation Plan. Feedback is needed from Chatham County farmers, agribusinesses, or anyone interested in the future of Chatham County agriculture.

Three surveys have been created to collect data to support this plan, which is an update to the 2009 Chatham County Farmland Preservation Plan (FPP). The FPP will contain the current state of agriculture and forestry, outline the challenges and opportunities for agriculture and forestry that exist, and develop recommendations to help maintain family farms and forests in Chatham County. Survey data will be collected through May 31, 2023. Responses to the surveys will remain anonymous and are not identifiable.

Are you passionate about Chatham’s food system?

Let’s join together for a greater impact! If you are interested in being a food council member or just want to join the discussions and work, fill out this quick survey to let us know. We can’t wait to meet you!
